Enjoyed the podcast, and had a comment about the super-glue for cuts. I used to do taxidermy and would get some nasty cuts from using the scalpels & knives needed to do that. Well when you are working on that, you really can’t stop due to a cut, so I always just superglued the wound closed.
If you are looking to get rid of cable/satellite, go check out http://www.boxee.tv/ – which is what I use. You can build one yourself or buy a ready to use unit.
You guys caused me to have a “drive-way moment”, where I sat in my car so I could finish listening to the podcast. It was that good!
Brad, I hacked my old apple tv to get boxee. Then we lost boxee, then we got it back, then it went away again. I’m sure it’s better now, but man, it was a total pita for a while. Building a unit might be a fun GardenFork Project.

Of course I enjoyed the tip about using Flax oil to season your Dutch ovens the most . My only concern with oils is the sticky residue they leave behind if you don’t season them right away.
As you know, seasoning means two seperate things with Dutch ovens: 1. The initial seasoning (Curing) that is done in a new Dutch oven or the re-seasoning of a Dutch oven and 2. The daily use seasoning which is just appling a light coating of something to the oven after every use. I have tried oils for my daily use and have been disapointed with the residue they can leave behind, dirt and other such enviromental goodies can accumulate on your Dutch oven over time, so I switched to Crisco years ago to eliminate this. Seams to have fixed this issue for me.
Using Flax oil for step one above sounds interesting indeed … perhaps if the intial cost of such a good oil is resonable I might give it a chance … but not for my daily seasoning which does not go into the oven each time to cure. It’s Crisco for me 🙂
