Rick and Eric talk about NUTS Nagging Unfinished Tasks and how to declutter you life.
First we deal with some GardenFork news
Some new changes to the GardenFork site, and a suggestion to try our web host, Blue Host, info here: https://gardenfork.tv/bluehost .
Then we move on to NUTS nagging unfinished tasks. To Eric, these are those unfinished things that clutter up your mind and keep you from getting the importantant stuff done. Rick suggests not to bring home projects that wont get finished, finish what you already have started at home before bringing home any more.
We talk about getting rid of stuff and how to sell on ebay, or using craigslist to give away free stuff. Rick tells about a new social network called NextDoor.com which allows you to keep in touch with your neighbors on your block or town.
We move on to home made pizza ovens like the DIY Pizza Oven we built , and the weber grill pizza oven that Eric wants to try out. Rick thinks you can just cook pizza on weber grill without any extra equipment or hacks, but we know Eric is into pizza oven hacks.

I never miss a podcast, love to hear what is going on your worlds, I feel like I get a behind the scenes pass. Would like Rick to tell us more about how to use siri for reminders and find out how Eric solves his problem with lists/tasks. I also have the same problem, there is never a good place to make a list that won't get lost or forgotten. I thought I would try to use evernote, downloaded it and now have to find time to learn the program. It is still unused...
You are not alone, I could use some help as well. Thanks, and keep up the good work! Vonna

Gee thanks for listening...and taking the time to write, Vonna.

Mostly the trick with siri is proper training. What she thinks you say or ask is on the screen. If she gives you something weird, take a minute to correctly type what you said. She's a pretty fast learner. (as a son of the south, I've had to correct a lot of her stuff at first).
It's also about pre-loading frequent locations into your address book (the street address) and turning on location services (it's in the article). Use the names you want them called, work, home, school, grocery, the blue store.
Then it's just a simple matter of making the note:"Remind me to go to the dry cleaners when I leave work today" Siri will notice when you leave the building and pop you note.
I kind of have serial reminders for the grocery store. "When I'm at the the grocery, remind me to get more dog food." Sometimes there will 10 or 15 reminders pop when I walk in the front door of the store. I just make the reminder as I discover I'm out of something.
You can also turn on voice memos for tedious notes. I'll have siri create a VM while I'm under veil, "Hive one: not seeing the queen, but I'm seeing eggs. spotty pattern, need to replace here. oooooh, small hive beetles, add a trap next time. bring a new super this one's filling up. "
Or you can dictate a note.
And I couldn't live without Evernote, but that's a different story.

why separate the site cook/dyi? I prefer dyi but may look at some cook. Separate is like a divorce.
selling on ebay. Too often it takes too much work/time to sell such that people often do no realize the real cost of their "profit"
For NUTS I need lists. My best list is a phone contact named "TODO" and is a Contact favorite in Android. I put all the todo stuff in there and things I need to pickup from different stores bigbox/hardware/garden stores. Phone is always with me so I always have my todo list.

Has anyone tried Freecycle? It's a way to recycle your old stuff by giving it to those who are looking for it without any cost to either party. Plus, it's not on CraigsList so it's not the usual bunch of weird people trying to get your phone number and home address.
