A Flat Tire And A Failed Stream

Hi Friend,

Biggest storm in many years here in BKLN. About 12" of mostly powder followed by some ice pellets. The Labs love the park in snow, but it gets hard to move through the meadow so we have been walking on the paths. The car is surrounded by plowed snow. And on the day of the storm, no planes overhead on the approach to LaGuardia.

While the snow was falling, I thought why not do a livestream? Most people would be home. So I put the word out and scheduled the stream on YouTube. Sat down with my iPad, and then I could not figure out how to start a previously scheduled livestream. You can hit the live button in the YouTube app and livestream right away, but this presumes your viewers are on the app at that moment. I wanted to give everyone a link and time beforehand.

I moved over to my iMac, thinking, surely starting the stream would be easy. But the Chrome browser wanted me to "allow access to mic and camera". Despite being a Mac fanboy for years, I could not figure out how to do this. Nowhere in the macOS settings was this option - hint - its in the Chrome Settings. But Chrome wont tell you that.

So I had to cancel the stream, because it just would not work. I was not pleased about how such a simple thing did not work on two Mac devices. I forgot that I was dealing with Chrome...

I finally did figure it out, and there are several hoops to go through. The biggest takeaway is YouTube/Google presume everyone streams in a vertical format.

Meanwhile, I did fix my flat tire in a few minutes with a $15 tool kit. Many newer cars do not carry a spare tire, and this tire plug kit can save you a tow, and is now part of my car emergency gear. Amazon gear list here.

LED Motion Sensor Bulb Update. The most clicked on link ever in the newsletter. Interesting. Very pleased so far. They turn off after 2 minutes of no motion, so after I close the door, my closets have a bit of light leaking out for a few moments. Buy Here.

One day you will be glad you watched this tire fix video.

This took longer than I wanted it to ;) Watch Here.
