As for the microphones, try a dynamic mike, instead of a condenser mike like the snowball. Condensers are fine for outdoor use with ambient sound, but are too sensitive for studio use. I gotta agree with Mike, that the new snowball sounds a bit "tinny"
Once I switched to a dynamic mike, my sound improved greatly.
I have found Samson Pop Filters for as little as $15.
Keep up the entertaining discussions, either way.

Great show guys.
I have always heard steampunk describes as an alternate history where the Information Revolution occured at the same time as the Industrial Revolution. There is a great book by Bruce Sterling called "The Difference Engine" that was one of the founding books of the movement. It's pretty interesting to read about computer nerds working on gear driven, mechanical computers.

Hi! guys,
My ears perked up when I heard Mike mention fencing--the sport of fencing and wasn't referring to a wood or chain link fence which are all possibilities on GF! Anyway, regarding Larping, that sounds similar to SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) which has a large following in Northern CA.
I am a fencer, and fencers don't get very much publicity so it was great to hear the shout out, kinda like the guy with the boats you mentioned last year.
Thanks for sharing all the great activities and your lives with the rest of us--nice to know there are other geeks around besides me!!
P.S. Hey! Mike, if you're interested in fencing, I would recommend the epee fencing weapon for you--a big guy like you would RULE with an epee in hand and scare the dickens off of others! LOL 😉
