I’m calling this the Balsamic Vinegar Hack, or cheat. Chris Kimball of Cook’s Illustrated and America’s Test Kitchen posted about making grocery store balsamic vinegar taste like the expensive kind, so I wanted to try it and see. So check out our balsamic vinegar recipe video here and let us know what you think.

Hi guys, great website! I stumble on it from a friend on facebook; I watched lots of your videos today and your work is fantastic! I have a tiny remark about the videos: they could be a tiny bit shorter; especially this one: 2min 45 of introduction before telling us the INGREDIENTS of the cheap balsamic, was little too much time, even if the labradors are really cute and all…ok I admit, patience is not my main quality 🙂
We love watching your shows! If you love basalmic vinegar try it on tomato caprese. Fresh sliced tomato, slice of fresh mozzarella cheese, basil leaf, and drizzle basalmic vinegar on top, and eat.
The olive garden made a sliced steak on butter lettuce with feta cheese and basalmic vinegar salad that was out of this world. In both of these instances you want the thicker basalmic. So Eric, the basalmic you made WAS perfect in thickness.
Balsamic reduction not included here–only the Lab testing!
