Cyber Monday & Henry Kissinger - Cool Stuff
Hi Friend,
Behind Spike is some really cool bespoke peel and stick wallpaper from an artist on Etsy. I did not make a video about this as it was a stressful challenge to hang the wallpaper on 130 yr old walls that are not square or plumb.
TLDR - Buy a laser level. Don't start with the first roll of paper in the corner of the wall. Hang the second roll of paper, 23" from the corner, then go back and hang the first piece, using the second piece as your straight edge. Push the excess paper into the corner, and cut with a sharp util knife. The printed image on the wallpaper will not always line up exactly with the one you just stuck on the wall as you put up each new section. Once all the rolls are up, you will not notice the small mis-alignments. Work with someone who is smarter than you. And listen to them. ;)
We bought wallpaper from Forever Wall and Imagine Wallpaper on Etsy.
I think Cyber Monday is an extension of Black Friday Week. Amazon sends me a list of what will be on sale, and the Monday sale is now more than just software-computer stuff. See the Amazon page for Cyber Monday here.

Example: The new eufy robot vac I bought on Black Friday Week is now part of the Cyber Monday Sale. I've only had it a few days, but so far it is going good. It is much quieter than my vintage Roomba robot vacs. It has a very low profile so it can clean under the white kitchen island - seen behind Andy & Spike in the pic above.
This is a very basic 'bump around the room' vac, no app or lidar, thankfully. To me, an appliance tied to an app means if the app is not supported down the road, your machine stops working. This vac does not come with those little border led light gizmos that define the area to be cleaned. To keep it in the kitchen, I put a dog bed down to keep it out of the hallway, a yoga roller or similar would work as well. Or just close the door to whatever room is being cleaned. Simple. Recommended by Wirecutter as a budget alternative to the pricier vacs. Works for me. Check it out on Amazon here.
Amazon has a bunch of their "Basics" line on sale, see them all here.

I always need batteries, and have switched from Costco brand batteries to the Amazon Basics batteries. I use them in our indoor-outdoor thermometers, flashlights, LED headlamps. Pro tip: remove one battery from your headlamp, rubber band it to the lamp, when not using. Keeps the batteries from leaking while the headlamp sits in your tool drawer. While I'm not an expert on batteries, the Amazon ones work for me.
Want to test drive the Amazon batteries? Here is a set of their 24 AA and 24 AAA alkalines.
So if you are thinking you missed out on the Black Friday sale, check out the Amazon page for Cyber Monday here. You might find that gizmo you want is still on sale.

The American Experience just released a 2 part - 3 hour documentary on Henry Kissinger. Secretary Kissinger, working with President Richard Nixon, changed the world, IMO. Some of the things Secretary Kissinger did I knew about, but there is a lot I learned for the first time watching this.
Eye opening would be one way to describe this doc. Very relevant to the world we live in right now.
I found out about this doc on YouTube, where PBS has been posting many of their programs. While I am a member/supporter of PBS, I find it easier to watch/discover docs and shows like this on the YouTube app on my iPad.
Watch on YouTube here. Watch on PBS site here.
YT does suggest to me a bunch of documentary channels to watch, but I find many of them are not great.

Camp Out West is one of my watch every video channels on YT. They are renovating an old trailer park into an off-grid home and eventually adding in some glamping cabins. They are very down to earth, no OMG type vids at all. Some of the video titles are mbe a little clickbait, but not a big deal for me. Plus they have a great pup, who is a big goof. More goofy than our Labs even.
Their latest vid shows is about how they have finally found a good plumber and their trip to a hands-on class laying down hedges, which is an ancient art to make live hedge fences. Neat. Watch Here.

AND my latest vids! Watch them all here.
