We talk with co-directors Casey Parks and Aubree Bernier-Clarke about their documentary video they are raising funds for on Kickstarter here. We also talk about how you can use kickstarter to fund creative projects and some tech tips on shooting a video documentary.

Hi Eric. I just listened to your interview with Casey and Aubrey and I will be glad to spread the word about their kickstarter campaign. I wondered what you might be discussing that parents would not want their children to hear, and then I heard that the documentary is about a person who lived in a gender that was not the one assigned to him at birth. I have never had trouble talking to my kids about that. I have a transgender sister and she lived with my family while she transitioned. Children don't really have trouble understanding it, but adults often do.
Yesterday, November 20, was the "International Transgender Day of Remembrance" with vigils and memorials all over the world for people who have been murdered because of their gender identity. Your timing in posting this podcast is excellent! As the sister of a transgender woman, I live with the knowledge that there are people who would kill my sister just because of who she is. Documentaries about people who don't conform to gender type will help us learn that transgender people are people first, that there is nothing to fear and nothing to be ashamed of, and that we don't have to whisper or send children into the other room to talk about their lives.
Thanks!
