Hi Friend,

This is Spike's typical morning pond ritual. Stand there in chest deep water and look around. Andy is throw-the-ball non-stop. White swans built a nest near this part of the pond this spring, and hover at the fence and hiss at the dogs. Most dogs ignore them.

We dodged the big east coast storms this week in BKLN, but up at the house there's been a number of downed trees. I use the Weather Underground app which can show you very local weather thanks to the many amateur weather geeks who upload their weather data to Weather Underground. You can probably find your neighbor's weather station on Weather Underground, but best to use their website rather than the phone app to find the neighbor's weather station and make it a favorite you can find quickly.

I made some more vids for you:

Never Lose The Fly Swatter Again...

flyswatters

Flies always get into the house upstate. Andy is not a fan of flies, outside or inside. And somehow, despite the house being quite small, the flyswatter gets "misplaced" when you need it most. Most likely because I put it down somewhere and walked away. So I bought this six pack for $9. Marital bliss restored. Forever.

If you want a next level swatter that works very well on mosquitos, get this electric zapper tennis racket style bug swatter. $10 on Amazon.

Other People's Cool Podcast Episodes I'm trying out these universal podcast links from Plink here, let me know if they don't open up these podcasts on your phone podcast app.

An Arguement For The Sun, Unexplainable, the podcast from Vox. We are made up of photons from the sun. You will think about the sun in a new way after listening to this show. Unexplainable now has a show on Netflix as well.

Missing Children Milk Carton, 99% Invisible. The history of how photos of missing children showed up on Milk Cartons. 99% is one of my fav podcasts.

Legendary producer and manager Peter Asher Speaks, Fresh Air .

"Paul McCartney was dating my sister and living in our house. He and John played 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' for me in our house"

I don't listen to Fresh Air often, its usually way too depressing. And I am not a huge pop music history person, but this was a very interesting interview with someone I had no idea of and how he made all sorts of music happen in the 60s & 70s. Add to this that, at least listening to him on the podcast, he's nice person. Unusual in that world, IMO.

There's also a documentary just released on Peter Asher, here is the preview on YouTube.
