Oh man. I saw that broken bolt and my heart sank. I'm glad you got it all back together again.
My Montero Sport engine sounds like an alternator or A/C bearing could be going out. Do you plan on producing a video for that? 🙂

Amazing at what you can fix! The question I have is was your attitude as positive between the video clips? 🙂

Eric,
My vocational English class just finished watching you replace the alternator. The class wants to know, roughly, how many hours did the entire replacement take? The students want to know why you didn't use WD-40? Finally, who spilled the tools? Half of the class blame the dogs, and the other half say you did it in a fit of rage! So which was it?
Thanks for share the good, the bad, and the ugly side of doing your own car repair. 😉
P.S. If you reply to our questions, the class promises to send you a chihuahua for your dogs, to play with, so they don't bother you while you work! LOL

Wow, after watching that, I feel better when I screw up fixing something on a car. I ran into a similar problem with rear struts on a Dodge Intrepid. I noticed you have Connecticut plates on the truck. I thought you were from VT?

First let me tell you, I love your videos! I would love to have seen or have had you describe the look on your auto parts guy's face when you brought this alternator in for him to match and it is in pieces! I can imagine it was priceless!

Eric you are a saint. To be able to withhold the rage that must have wanted to come out when you broke the bolt, melted the bracket, nearly drilled out all of the threads in the bracket, not using an Easy Out tool but trying to use a great big hunk'n right angle drill, BUT Wait, perhaps we should be praising the goodness of the camera person. Undoubtedly she is the one who helped coach you through those difficult times, through the four months it took to finish the repairs, offering common sense advice, maintaining her composer, feeding you and offer words of encouragement at just the right moment to ensure that the job got done (IE is that truck finished yet?). Perhaps she is the saint. Thank God for wonderful women who make fantastic wives.
We love your videos, keep up the great work.
